Recently, toy fraud has become a hot spot for consumers. According to a CCTV financial report, the Shanghai police in China cracked a case involving the manufacture and sale of fake animation figures, involving a total of 400 million yuan, and more than 100,000 fake animation toy figures were seized pu decompression toy.

The words "counterfeiting," "counterfeiting," and "counterfeiting" are not uncommon in the toy industry. In the market, many toys are sold without trademarks, especially plastic toys and plush toys played by children. Many of these products are characters in well-known film and television works and require special authorization to be produced and sold. In fact, there are many toys made from counterfeit genuine products on the market. In addition to the lack of quality assurance of these toys, their producers also obviously infringed on intellectual property rights, which is already illegal.

Take toy figures as an example. The price of a genuine toy figure ranges from tens of yuan to several thousand yuan, and some limited editions may be even more expensive. The price of imitation toys is much lower than that of genuine products. The fraud gang in this case sold them at a price lower than 70% of the genuine product. In the face of such a large price gap, some lawbreakers took the risk.

The fundamental reason is the difference in cost between the two. Genuine toy figures have paid a lot of costs in terms of copyright, design, manufacturing, and sales, while imitation toy figures directly omit the two links of copyright and design. They are copied through authentic figures, and then cheap The price is sold out. Such fraud not only infringes on the intellectual property rights of genuine toy manufacturers and the legitimate rights and interests of consumers, but also hinders the development of the entire toy industry.

Today, the current scale of the global toy industry has reached 100 billion U.S. dollars, and China is already the world's largest toy manufacturer and exporter. At present, more than 70% of the products sold on the world's toy market are made in China. As the center of the world's toys, respecting and protecting the intellectual property rights of the toy industry is an important step in the future development of Chinese toys.

With the increase in labor costs in China, toy companies with no core competitiveness and poor profitability will face greater operating pressure. "OEM" and "OEM" can no longer fully satisfy the development of toy companies. More and more toy companies have begun to build their own brands, hoping to make breakthroughs through self-designed toy products.

Strengthening the protection of intellectual property rights is the hope of protecting the development of independent toy brands. The author believes that relevant functional departments should increase the intensity of law enforcement inspections to make counterfeit and inferior products invisible. Illegal acts such as making and selling fakes should be severely cracked down to make lawbreakers feel deterred.

Secondly, toy companies must have the awareness of intellectual property protection and actively apply for patent protection for their original products. The criminals must not be given an opportunity.

Finally, consumers should keep their eyes open to avoid buying fake and shoddy products. For toy products that are significantly lower than the market price, be cautious in buying.

At present, more and more industries are beginning to pay attention to the protection of intellectual property rights, and the state has repeatedly issued relevant laws to protect legal intellectual property rights. It is foreseeable that in the future, with the continuous improvement of China's intellectual property protection system, the innovation and development of China's toy industry will be more secure.
